"As a general rule, I think that all lawyers belong at the bottom of the ocean.  You managed to find one that actually went there and came back with a good story to tell.  David Concannon’s account of his dives to the Titanic was great reading and well told."

Lecture Topics

David Concannon's lectures include the following topics:

  • Exploration of the R.M.S. Titanic

People are inspired by great adventure. And the name Titanic is synonymous with adventure.  In a powerful and dynamic presentation tailored to each audience, David Concannon takes his audience "with him" on an extraordinary experience few people have ever achieved: diving 2.5 miles down to the wreck of the R.M.S. Titanic, exploring the ghostly remains of this great ship, surviving terrifying moments in the tangled debris, and discovering objects that serve as poignant reminders of man’s fallibility.  Using both archival and exclusive photographs, Concannon takes the audience to one of the most inhospitable places on Earth, to the crushing depths and inky darkness that surround this legend of a bygone era.

  • Three Miles Deep in the Bermuda Triangle:  The Discovery of the World's Deepest Wooden Shipwreck

In 2001, David Concannon participated in the Atlantic Sands expedition, an extraordinary adventure involving veterans of deep water exploration that discovered the nearly intact remains of world's deepest wooden shipwreck -- an American slave trader lying three miles deep in the heart of the Bermuda Triangle.  The audience is taken aboard the Russian Akademik Mstislav Keldysh, the world's largest research vessel, on a dive three miles deep in the tiny Mir submersible to a mystery ship nearly 200 years old, to the joy of finding sunken treasure, and through the meticulous process of piecing together a historical puzzle to determine the identity of this incredible find.  This presentation conveys the spirit of adventure and exploration at its finest.

  • Surviving the Worst-Case Scenario: In Work and in Life

David Concannon's contribution to the international best seller The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook: Travel was hailed by Amazon.com as the best part of this best-selling entire book.  Based on his experiences from a lifetime of travel and adventure, which include everything from climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, diving to the Titanic and to the heart of the Bermuda Triangle, and even dodging bullets in Cartagena, Columbia, David provides advice on surviving the worst-case scenario in business and in life.  This presentation is specifically tailored to each individual group or audience, and it is particularly popular at corporate events.
